Class Description - Dance - Jazz and Tap Classes in Fort Montgomery, New York

Jazz students perform at local mall at Fort Montgomery, NY

The Dance Design School’s Jazz and Tap program in Fort Montgomery follows the public school cut off and each level is age specific.  Your child may begin jazz and tap at the age 6 or 1st grade in school. Each level uses imagery, story lines and games to provide appropriate body movements as well as covering body placement, technique, stylization, rhythm and musicality. As the levels progress new complex material is combined with the previous levels work. It is our strong recommendation that for maximum progress each dancer take a minimum of one ballet class per week. This will give your child the basic fundamentals of good line, placement and musicality. Year End Show preparation will begin in March. Dances will be choreographed based on the class work learned during the school year. Dancers rent costumes verses buying costumes, saving you hundreds in costume fees. Parents will receive 2 free tickets and 1 free DVD.
