Dance Design has added several exciting new classes to our weekly schedule. Classes begin in September 2013. Here is a description of the new classes:

Angelina Ballerina Dance Academy: Dance & Music Design School is now an official Angelina Ballerina Dance Academy! Angelina Ballerina Dance Academy classes are taught through a nationwide network of top quality dance studios. Your child will receive a quality dance education in a caring and fun environment, all based on the beloved Angelina Ballerina character. Each month your child will learn new dance skills and steps based on a new Angelina Ballerina story book.The Angelina Ballerina Dance Academy curriculum is designed by internationally renowned master teachers and child development experts. Your child will be inspired to pursue their dreams of dance, just like Angelina Ballerina! Register today and your little star with big dreams will develop the love and skills of dance that will last for a lifetime. Tuesdays 5:15-5:55

Song & Dance: This 45 minute class is for children ages 4-7 and 8-11 who love to give ‘living room performances’. Each class a DDS voice teacher will begin with a group vocal warm up. Students will then learn to sing a song (ex. Disney’s ‘Part of You World’, Newsies 'King of New York'). The class will finish with a DDS dance teacher setting choreography to fit the song as the students sing. A new song will be introduced about every 3-4 weeks. Our Song & Dance class will be invited to perform in our Performing Arts Shows held in early February and late May.

Ages 4-7 Saturday Noon-12:45.

Acting for Kids & Teens: This hour long class is for kids ages 8-12 and 13+ who love the drama life brings. Each class DDS teacher Miss. Nicole will begin with an acting warm up. Students will learn how to control their voice to express emotions through a monologue, group scene or improv. Our Acting classes will be invited to perform in our Performing Arts Shows held in early February and late May.

Music Adventures: Clapping, singing and piano playing, this class is perfect for your favorite little musician! Your child will learn the basics of piano playing while developing an early love of all music. This is the perfect class for the early elementary school child who loves to make music. Musicians ages 4&5 attend class for 40 minutes per week. The basic foundation of piano playing is taught using kid friendly imagery, games and songs. Note identification, hand placement, rhythms and ear training will be taught as well as basic piano songs. Each class will be limited to 5 students, allowing for more one to one teacher/student learning. Each student will have use of a piano/keyboard for the piano playing section of class. Although a piano or keyboard at home is helpful, it is not necessary for our Music Adventures class. Young students love learning together. Group lessons for this age group fosters a guaranteed, fun filled learning environment when compared to traditional private piano lessons.
