A year end show should focus on a wonderful experience for the student and parent. Additional show fees, rehearsals that do not run on time and lengthy performances are unpleasant for the entire family. At Dance Design School, we ensure that our June year end show is an event to look forward to, not to dread.
- We rent our costumes to you (ages 6 and up) at significant savings, so you don’t have to buy a costume that could range from $70-$150 per dance! A teen dancer who takes several classes can pay hundreds in costume fees. Our rentals are a low cost alternative. All adjusting of our costumes is done by our seamstress at no additional charge to you.
- Each family receives 2 free tickets plus 1 free DVD of the performance. Additional tickets and DVDs are available for purchase.
- Shows are kept to a manageable time length, to 2 hours or less, so you don’t a long wait to see your child. Rehearsals are well organized and always on time. We understand your time is important!

Class Teaching Style |
|
Teaching dance can be tricky when it comes to children. Attention span and physical readiness are specific to each age group and individual child. Appropriate dance movements are best taught by a trained professional dance teacher who understands the unique development of each child.
We take pride in dance education that allows children to improve while having FUN! Our classes capture dancers’ imagination and creativity. Dance Design School is the only school in the area that offers the Royal Academy of Dance curriculum - Internationally respected for age appropriate instruction that addresses each child’s unique anatomical and psychological development. Each class level builds on the one before, ensuring that your child will be taught with a consistent approach each year. |

Facilities |
|
Dance combines music and movement. It is a high impact activity. Repetitive jumping
on young bodies can harm the growth plates and lead to stress fractures. That is why
Professional dance companies require ‘floating’ floors to preserve their dancers’ physical
well being.
- Our studios have professional caliber ‘floating’ floors that reduce fatigue and prevent injuries.
- Each studio has a stereo system with quality speakers, to limit the volume needed to hear clarity in the music.

Education vs. Competition/Recital |
|
When looking for a studio, pick one that focuses on dance education, not on competitions or the recital. Many studios focus their class time on a single piece of choreography to be used in a dance competition or recital.
At Dance Design School we emphasize dance education. A properly trained student may perform many diverse choreographies with little rehearsal time. Rehearsals for our year end show do not begin until March, unlike the more common practice in other studios who start rehearsing in November. Dance education encourages individual work ethic and the satisfaction that comes from personal achievement rather than from a trophy. Competitions are expensive with little reward for the individual dancer. |
