Ms. Annie began her training with certified Royal Academy of Dancing teacher Mimi Ferrell at age 8, and by age 18 had mastered every vocational level of the Academy from Intermediate Foundation through Advanced II. She attended Indianapolis’s Butler University, however, sheturned her focus to her academic studies and graduated with a double Major in Biology and Journalism, and a Minor in Dance. Ms. Annie joined DDS in 2002 and today teaches nearly every R.A.D. level between Primary and Advanced II. In 2008, she bolstered her knowledge of the Academy’s Grades Syllabi by taking the Grade 6, 7, and 8 exams, which were added by the Academy in more recent years. She also has served as stage manager for the studio’s Nutcracker and spring productions since 2005.
Miss Annie can’t say how rewarding it is for her to be sharing such an important part of herself with other dancers, whether recreational or the aspiring professional. Most of the time, she can hardly keep her enthusiasm at bay. (Just ask any one of her students.) |
